If you are stopped for a motor vehicle violation in some states on the mainland, your AAA Hawaii membership card and Guaranteed Arrest Bond Certificate may be accepted instead of cash bail if the fine for the violation is $1,000 or less. Guaranteed Arrest Bond Certificates are available at the AAA Hawaii office.

Exceptions: Offenses not covered include driving while under the influence of intoxicating liquors, drugs or narcotics; failure to appear for violations; driving on a suspended/revoked driver's license; hit and run; failure to present evidence of insurance; illegal use or falsification of license or registration; engaging in a felony; attempting to elude/eluding police; or while driving a vehicle used for commercial purposes. General Insurance Company of America (GICA) administers the Guaranteed Arrest Bond program. By using the Guaranteed Arrest Bond Certificate, you agree to reimburse AAA Hawaii or GICA for the total combined amount of any fines, forfeitures, court costs, and other costs paid by AAA Hawaii and/or GICA in connection with the use of the Certificate. Benefits are not available when driving in the state of Hawaii.
